Born on August 20, 1949, Steven was a beacon of unending kindness and generosity. He touched many lives with his compassionate and giving nature, fine sense of humor, and the comfort he shared.
Steven was predeceased by his father, David Epstein, mother, Sylvia Iskowitz, and brother, Paul Epstein. He is survived by his loving partner, Susan J Panko, his brother, Fred Epstein, his daughter, Jessie Sakowski along with her husband Zac, and his beloved grandchildren, Aaron and Evan. In addition to these, his sisters-in-law, Janet Epstein and Linda Epstein and his niece, Rachel Epstein, and nephew, David Epstein, stepsons Walter Triesch and Ben and Charlie Harris kindly hold Steven's memory in their hearts.
A celebration of Steven's life will be held on August 20, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM MST, at the El Paso Elks Lodge No.187, 2278 Trawood Dr., Suites C-E, in El Paso, Texas 79935, where Steven has resided since 2007.
Known affectionately as Steve, he was passionate about music. Steven loved strumming his guitars to the tunes of Sultans of Swing by Mark Knopfler, The Bee Gees, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty. He also enjoyed watching Ice Road Truckers, racquetball tournaments, and movies like The Pacific, Band of Brothers and Top Gun. He loved the simple pleasure of savoring wavy lays potato chips, homemade popcorn, homemade lasagna, fresh bread with butter and plain M&Ms. His favorite drinks were water and sparkling water.
Steven was a man of recreation. He reveled in riding his motorcycle, listening to music or audiobooks, playing racquetball, and cycling. He had a special place in his heart for animals. His favorite vacation spots were Cancun and Las Vegas. His preferred books were written by Brad Thor, Bill O'Reilly, and Dan Brown. He loved live concerts and was a great fan of the color blue.
One of Steven's greatest accomplishments was his success as a car salesman. He was a coach for a little league baseball team and taught several people how to play guitar. His immense love for animals will always be remembered. He will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
