Steven E. Brooks, age 71, passed peacefully to Eternal Life surrounded by family on Saturday, October 7, 2023. He was born in Oconomowoc, WI to the late Harley and Hope Brooks. Though his father’s employment moved the family several times over the years to both Iowa and Texas, Steve eventually felt drawn back to Wisconsin.

His ability to talk to anyone led him to pursue a career in sales until his retirement in 2014. Steve was an avid bird hunter and supporter of Pheasants Forever. He was also a sports fan, cheering for all the Wisconsin teams. He was admired by all who knew him for his approachable and easy-going attitude and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife of 32-years, Abby: his sister, Nancy Gausepohl of Texas; sisters-in-law, Kerry (Tom) Crowley and Stacy (Brett) Dzieminski; and nephews, Reese and Colton Crowley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Acts 2 Church which meets inside the Wales/Genesee Lion’s Club, S42 W31400 State Road 83, Genesee Depot, WI. Parking is available at the Genesee Town Hall across the street.
