Steven's obituary
Reflections of Life
Steven Bradley Robinson was born in Sacramento, California on August 5th, 1955, to the union of the late William G. Robinson and Anitabel Robinson. He transitioned to his heavenly home after a long battle with heart and kidney disease on January 2nd, 2024.
Steve graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1973. He continued his education at California State University in Hayward. Steve pursued a career in Television. He worked as an Assignment Editor and camera man for years at various news stations throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento. During his time as an Assignment Editor, he won an Emmy for a story he worked on. He also dedicated his time as a counselor for people recovering from addiction for years while living in Placerville, CA.
Steve accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior later in life. Steve spread his love throughout various churches in Sacramento where his family attends. He joined St. Andrews AME Church, St. Jude Christian Tabernacle, Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, and New Home Missionary Baptist Church. Steve was welcomed and loved at each church he attended.
Steve accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. He was the type to give the shirt off his back. His selflessness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on the community he called home. Steve loved to fish and golf. He also loved music, history and loved to gamble. He would frequently take trips with his sister Selma to the casino. Steve loved to play cards and dominos with his friends and enjoyed watching football every Sunday. Steve was a foodie. He loved waffles, Mexican food, and McDonald’s. He loved spending time walking his dog Bella, who passed away a year ago, but most of all, he loved his children.
His departure comes as a great shock, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide network of community. Steve was devoted to his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his four children; daughters, Nichola Benjamin (Markus), and Ashley Robinson; sons, Colin Robinson, and William Robinson; his precious granddaughter, Nia Benjamin; sisters, Selma Williams, Betty Wilson, (Robin, deceased), Anita Clark (Terral) and Paula Robertson (Anthony). He is also survived by the mother of his children, Sissel Babb. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandpa or P-pa as his granddaughter, Nia, loved to call him. Steve leaves behind and a host of nieces, and nephews, as well as extended family, who dearly loved him.
Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
