Steve's obituary
Steven Burt Banister, 64, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on January 14, 2026. Born on July 26, 1961, Steven lived a life marked by deep personal relationships and a loving family.
He is survived by his sister, May-May, and brothers, Larry, Charles, and Darius. Steven's life was further enriched by his daughter, Makeeda Ty'ree Banister. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Miles Banister, and his father, Dan Banister Junior.
A memorial service will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10 am, led by Pastor Gregory Manning at Broadmoor Community Church, located at 2021 S Dupre Street, New Orleans, LA 70125, near the corner of Broad and Napoleon.
