Steve and I became a team when he accepted my technician position. He was the best candidate combining technical knowledge, excellent people skills, and an intuitive sense of product problems. The big picture: the market, the product environment, the customer needs and our product specifications were his focus. For over 20 years our days began with a 15 to 20 minute review of the nation/world and our personal views. Often this was the best part of the day. We then turned to the product test requirement and issues. Steve’s calm approach to Engineers allowed a less confrontation and a more effective discussion of the product’s design issues.
Through the years I was fortunate to get to know his wonderful family. Watching his sons grow to adulthood and take on the challenges of life was inspiring. Many enjoyable family dinners occurred with excellent food and conversation. Steve and Janita deserve accolades as individuals, parents, and friends.
I hope to continue my association with his family into the future.
