Steven's obituary

Steve Gammon, 70, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023, at his home with his wife - Lisa.

Steve grew up in Atlanta, GA and lived in many exciting places throughout his life. His favorite place to be, besides the beach, was the lake - on the water. He moved to Lake Lanier with his wife, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Steve was a veteran, serving 6 years in the air force. He served honorably in the Vietnam war. He worked as a physical therapy assistant for 25 years and loved taking care of his patients. Steve was able to help his patients live their best life as well as save lives by having a gift of seeing issues in patients' others could not. Many of his patients and their families felt Steve was the reason they were able to "live their best life." He was a strong patient advocate and loving caretaker. Steve enjoyed golfing, fishing, antiquing with his wife, and most of all he enjoyed his time with his family. His favorite part of the day was the sunset at the lake, where he and his wife spent many nights enjoying that time together. Steve will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Steve is survived by his wife Lisa Gammon, Stepson Patrick McCorkle with Heather Dorch, his Stepdaughter Christina Wright and husband Wayne Wright, his grandchildren Kierstin Wright, Anna Wright, Miley Wright, Ethan Dorch, Connor Dorch, Faith McCorkle, Leland Wright, Brielle Dorch, sister Claudia Falk and husband John Faulk, sister Patti Sanders and husband Steve Sanders, a sister-in-law Jeanie Gammon, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Steve requested a celebration of life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Steve’s loved ones to join us in celebrating his beautiful life at his stepdaughter Christina Wright house on April 22, 2023, at 11am. The family will spend time sharing stories and celebrations from 11am – 1pm. We ask for immediate family to stay for a remembrance dinner at 4pm as well.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Steve’s name to Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta. A donation can be made on this website using the GIFT tab.
