Steve's obituary

With heavy hearts, yet with hope of heaven, we grieve the sudden death of our father, son, brother, and friend, Steve Troesch. We have created this memorial to celebrate the life of Steve as we know how integrated he was in this community and how he had such an immense impact on each and every one of us. Collecting your stories and memories here will offer us all, and most importantly his family, great comfort. Click on the heart above to let us know you were here and please share anything you wish. Pictures, videos, stories.

Frederick “Steve" Troesch II was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was born on July 6,1957, in New Orleans, LA and grew up in Natchitoches and Houma, LA before moving to Tavares, FL in 1971. As a child Steve was an accomplished gymnast and french horn player, with his first and greatest love being the guitar. In middle school, he started playing in the Evergreen Eagles marching band and thus began his love for music. He graduated from Tavares High School in 1975. He was a Beatle maniac. The coming years would be full of music, family and friends. His loss was unexpected to all.

Steve loved nothing more than to be with his family and friends. His kids were his greatest joy.  He spent his days serving and spending quality time with his family. He had many devoted, close friends, but also became “fast friends” with countless strangers and acquaintances. On most days, you could find him on job sites throughout Central Florida serving families and their homes, and stopping for his favorite cup of joe and breakfast at Cups and Pups and Nick's Diner. He knew how to lick a plate clean and celebrate life with a meal! Those who knew him in these spaces became and will always be extended family to Steve. He always saw God through outdoor adventures and the many details in His creation. He spent weeks in the mountains with family, playing guitar on the porch, exploring trails and watching hummingbirds. He would watch sunrises and sunsets and pass the time with good meals. Days spent fishing with his brother, Chris, out on the boat was one of his favorite places to be.

He served at Trinity Church, Eustis, FL for the last 38 years as a member of the worship team, youth volunteer and church member. It was his second home and a place he devoted his heart and soul to serving. The community therein will always be family.

Steve was kind-hearted, gentle, funny, and always wanted to help the people in his life. His last night was spent helping a dear friend fix his sink; that's where he always was, serving others. He was a devoted father, loving brother, gracious son, passionate worshiper of Jesus and loyal friend. His loyalty, sense of humor and compassion will be missed by everyone. He left a lasting impression on anyone he came in contact with. He will be missed by many and we will continue to celebrate the fullness of his life as he celebrates in Heaven with Jesus.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Stephen Troesch, Sr. and niece Georgia Bree Grinstead. Steve is survived by his mother, Jennie Whitsell Troesch, his two sons, Frederick Stephen (Natalia) Troesch and Cody Michael Troesch. He is also survived by his sister, Lynne (Brett) Nichols, brother, Chris (Suzann) Troesch, niece, Melissa (Todd) Rowley and nephew Christopher Troesch; four great nephews and nieces, William Waters, Dylan Waters, Sophie Troesch and Caprice Troesch.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 3:00pm at Trinity Church in Eustis, Florida. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate his life at a reception immediately following the service.
