Sterlin Lawrence “Shorty” Johnson, 82, of Shreveport, LA, was born on December 29, 1939 in Portales, NM, and finished his race and entered into the promise of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 9, 2022. He was welcomed into heaven by his father, George W. Johnson and mother, Alma Opal Johnson, wife of 44 years, Alta Gay Johnson, wife of 15 years, Edwardine Johnson, and 10 brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his love and memories, include his son, Lynn Dale Johnson and wife, Cheri, two beloved grandsons, Colton Zachary Johnson and Carson David Johnson, daughter, Cynthia Dawn Burke and husband, Paul, stepdaughter, Elizabeth Bailey, two step-granddaughters, Destiny Morton and Savannah Morton, one step-great grandson, Declan Morton, Shorty’s youngest brother, Truman Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of lifelong friends.

Shorty was always a hard-working and generous family man. He owned and operated A&B Muffler and Louisiana Truck Outfitters of Bossier City, LA with his son and best friend, Lynn.

Shorty dearly loved and lived for his children and grandchildren. Most importantly, he lived all of his life as a devoted follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Shorty leaves a legacy of love, faith, hard-work, generosity, and perseverance to his children and grandchildren.

Shorty’s family wants to express our sincere appreciation to the residents and staff of Azalea Estates and Golden Gates Nursing who became his extended family after the loss of his second wife in 2020.

A memorial service will be held on June 24, 2022 at Gateway Church in Shreveport, LA — 8925 Youree Dr. 10AM visitation and memorial service at 11AM.
