Stephlina Starr was born on October 27, 1964, and passed away on April 28, 2023. A truly loving, smart, strong, and funny woman, she left a lasting impact on her family and friends. Stephlina is survived by her daughters Shanna Starr-Irving, Tia Starr, and Roya Dees,her granddaughters MaNyah Denhams, Malea Swindler and her sister Connie Neely. She was predeceased by her father, James Starr.

Stephlina was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Hurst and regularly attended meetings and events of the sickel cell advocates, a professional organization. She was passionate about raising sickel cell awareness and dedicating her time to causes she cared about.

Stephlina had a deep appreciation for the arts, with her favorite pieces being those of MaNyah Denhams. Her favorite music was that of Kirk Franklin. She had a penchant for games, with Scrabble being her favorite. Comedy performances brought joy and laughter to her life, and spending time with her family was her favorite recreational activity.

As an avid walker, Stephlina enjoyed staying active. Her love for the color purple was evident in many aspects of her life. She shared valuable lessons such as never giving up on your dreams and treating others with kindness. Among her many accomplishments, Stephlina took great pride in her children, who meant the world to her.

In her memory, may we remember Stephlina Starr as a loving and dedicated woman who touched the lives of many with her strength, sense of humor, and wisdom. She will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
