Stephen's obituary

Stephen Joseph Vladyka

March 24, 2025 – Titusville, Florida

Stephen Joseph Vladyka, 60, of Titusville, Florida, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, March 24th, 2025, at Parrish Medical Center after a courageous battle with stage IV esophageal cancer. Even on his final day, Stephen never stopped fighting, showing a resilience and strength that will never be forgotten.

Stephen was born to Joseph Vladyka and Beverly Faulkner on December 3rd 1964 in Utica, New York. He is survived by his loving wife, Dana; his daughters Leianne (William) Gore and Stephanie (Steven) Kraft; his beloved grandsons Brantley Gore, Rylan Gore, and Roland Kraft ;his mother and father; sister Stacey; aunt Shirley Matrassi; father-in-law Mike (Joan) Parish; sister-in-law Angela Mercurio and her son James (Colleen) Walker, along with their children Jayden, James, and Ava, and grandchild Jayce.

Stephen was known for his down-to-earth and extroverted nature. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, always ready to engage in conversation and share a laugh. He truly appreciated every moment life offered and cherished time spent with loved ones.

Above all, Stephen’s greatest joy came from his grandsons, Brantley and Rylan. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent playing with them, cuddling, and making memories. They were his whole world and the reason he fought so hard during his illness.

Diagnosed with esophageal cancer on July 5th, 2023, Stephen spent many hours in and out of oncology offices and hospitals, but he never let his illness interfere with his love for family. He made every effort to attend family gatherings, treasuring the time spent surrounded by those he loved. His strength, resilience, and dedication to his family will always be remembered.

A private service will be held to honor Stephen’s life at Crossbridge Church in Rockledge, Florida, on April 5th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, he will be transported to and buried at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. A graveside service will also be held at this time.
