Background
"I tell you the solemn truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains a single kernel; but if it dies it produces a great harvest." - John 12:24
Steve and Donna’s ministry carried the name Good Soil and was dedicated to finding and cultivating hearts ready for the seed of the good news of Jesus. Steve made it his practice to follow the Lord’s leading in where, when, and how to invest his time, talent, and treasure for God’s purposes. From Camp Deer Run in Texas to church planting in Kenya to making disciples in the rolling hills of Jellico, that obedience has already borne a harvest and—through the Lord’s continued guidance of the Good Soil Ministries board—it will continue in step with Steve’s faithful and purposeful life with the Lord.
His life was devoted to loving his family, making disciples, walking closely with God in prayer, and—most recently—answering a special call to reach boys by rallying and equipping men to raise their sons into God-honoring manhood.
It is now our joy and responsibility to continue investing in the expansion of God’s Kingdom in these same ways by:
- Caring for Donna, who faithfully co-labored with Steve through many fruitful decades of ministry
- Making disciples of Jesus and inspiring faith in believers through Camp Deer Run, partnerships in Kenya, and Good Soil Ministries
- Answering the clarion call to “save the boys” by strengthening fathers and sons in the way of Christ
