Stephen's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen "Steve" McNamara on March 19, 2023. Steve was born on August 26, 1954 in Culver City California to his parents Jerry and Janet McNamara. He joined his older brother Patrick and both were later joined by younger brother Brian. Step Father Jim later joined the family and they made many happy memories together. Steve grew up in Bonita, California where he enjoyed traveling, skiing, fishing, cars, horses, sailing, riding dune buggies and dirt bikes, playing with dog Harry and much more.

Steve graduated from Bonita Vista High School in 1972. He did his undergrad at San Diego State University graduating with a B.A. in Psychology in 1977. He went on to attend California Western School of Law graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1986. He was a member of the California State Bar from June 1987 to March 2023. Steve went on to become a successful trial and real estate litigation attorney for 36 years in Orange County and the Sacramento area. Professionally, Steve was a highly respected attorney, known for his intelligence and dedication to his clients.

Steve loved being a father, golfing, karaoke, sailing with friends and family, working on cars, landscaping, and hosting parties. He also loved to volunteer at church with his brother Patrick. He could do anything and knew everything too, you just had to ask. Most of all, he loved his friends and family, many who he helped however he could with love in his heart. Those who knew Steve will remember him as a charming, loving, funny, smart, and warm individual with an incredible giving heart. His compassionate nature was evident in his relationships with friends, family, and colleagues, making him a cherished figure in his community.

A Celebration of Life for Stephen McNamara will be held on May 7, 2023 in San Clemente, CA at Mulligan's Sports Bar. See Event section to RSVP and for more details. Please join us in honoring the life and memory of this remarkable man, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
