Steve's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Edward "Steve" Kerr, who left this world on June 3, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on June 30, 1957, in Marion, Pennsylvania, Stephen was a beacon of light and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey through life was characterized by an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community.

Steve was the cherished son of Kenneth "Burt" Kerr Jr. and Ilda (Allen) Kerr, who preceded him in death along with his beloved brother, Kenneth "Kenny" Kerr. He is survived by his loving brothers, Richard "Rich" Kerr and John "Mike" Kerr, and his devoted sister, Karen (Kerr) McCoy. Steve also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

A man of many passions, Steve was known for his warm smile and kind spirit. He found joy in attending church functions, where his faith played a central role in his life. He was an avid sports fan, and his love for collecting baseball cards and comic books brought him immense joy. Steve's appreciation for the fantastical worlds of sci-fi movies and shows was well-known among his friends and family, as he often shared these interests in lively discussions (and debates).

Steve's life was a testament to the power of love and connection. He cherished the time spent with family and friends, always finding ways to create lasting memories. His caring nature and ability to listen made him a confidant to many, and his laughter filled every room he entered. Steve’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and an inspiring zest for life.

In honoring Steve's memory, a Memorial service was held at the Fellowship Community Church in Collingswood, New Jersey, on August 14, 2025 with all those whose lives he touched in celebrating the beautiful life he lived and the profound impact he made on those around him.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable individual, we are reminded of the indelible mark he has left on our hearts. Steve will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit will continue to shine through the love he shared and the memories we hold close. Rest in peace, dear Steve. Your light will forever guide us.
