Steve could always find the good in all of the craziness. As we were working through getting the agency back to flight in the spring of 2020, he was a real partner in getting us there. And in the craziness, you could always share a laugh with him. He has been a mentor and a friend over the past five years.

Like the other posts, I am truly sorry. Steve was an amazing person. I can honestly state that he was one terrific administrator and collaborator. Open to new ideas. We worked together on a number of communications at NASA Langley. He was willing to try things out of his comfort zone for staff presentations and smile at himself. My heart goes out to his family. May wonderful memories of Steve sustain you through difficult times. Sheri Beam

I worked for Steve at NASA and then knew both Steve and Ann as swimming officials. Steve was a great boss—always wanting to do the right thing and willing to listen to figure out what the right thing was. On the swim deck, he was a proud dad and I heard him speak so proudly of his girls and what they were up to. He always had time to smile, say hello, even when he was running NASA and I saw him in the lobby at HQ. I feel blessed and grateful to have known Steve. I am so sorry at this tremendous loss and send deepest condolences to Ann, Kim, and Sarah.

I am deeply saddened to hear this! Steve Jurczyk is a role model to me, I learned so much from him! He was an amazing and inspiring person, able to even touch the lives and hearts of those who – like me – did not have the fortune to meet him in person!
Thank you for the inspiration and courage you gave to me, Steve Jurczyk, thus helping me find a way through a difficult time. I will keep your amazing smile and your warm and kind nature in my heart forever.
My deepest condolences to his family! May wonderful memories bring comfort in this difficult time.

It’s been many years, but even this week I thought of Steve (Ok, “Jurz”) and his razor-sharp wit. Every time I learned of him moving up another level in NASA, I was reminded of how matter-of-fact his intellect was, humbly hidden (at least in college) behind this warm, funny personality. An amazing life, and such a loss.

Steve was a champion for the space community and one of the kindest people in it with whom I had the honor of working. I just want to thank his family for sharing him with us all this time. We are blessed to have had the opportunity.

I was shocked to hear of Steve's passing. I count him as one of my friends. I have known Steve for quite a while. We attended the same church in Williamsburg and served on the Session at the same time. I also knew him at NASA where he was a strong supporter of our branch, the Advanced Aircraft Branch. He was a great leader, incredibly smart, and very personable.
My prayers go out to Ann, Kim and Sarah and his extended family and friends. May the fond memories of a life well lived help bring you comfort in this difficult time.
Blessings and Peace,

Ann, Sarah, and Kim,
I am beyond words. I am heartbroken to hear of Steve's passing. He was a wonderful boss and I learned so much from him. Each of you had your passions and he was so incredibly proud of each of your accomplishments. He was such a smart and caring man. I will continue to pray for you all and for peace. While there is comfort in knowing he no longer suffers, there is so much despair and sadness knowing he is no longer here.
Kim - beautifully written tribute to your father!!

Ann and family,
It was with much sadness we read of Steve’s passing. He was an inspirational leader and a good friend for our many years working together. We had lots of fun while we worked hard too. Steve was smart, always insightful but with a great sense of humor. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Saddened to hear of Jurz's passing, but at the same time, grateful to have worked with Steve in his early years at NASA Langley. His positive attitude was infectious. No matter how high in the ranks he rose, he always made time to greet and chat whenever we crossed paths. A rare talent in an agency filled with talent.
