I'm so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. We're all thankful for every moment we had with him. I met Steve in 2010 when I was going through a big life transition myself. He was supporting the HEFT. I remember him sharing a technique you used, Ann, saying "cancel, cancel". He made the memory so memorable that I often giggle to myself when I think of it (and use it myself!) Sending positive, healing energy to you and your family at this time.

Michelle and I moved the family from Mass to Virginia to join NASA LaRC. Steve and Ann took Michelle and I to dinner and make us feel comfortable in our new surroundings. Steve was an incredible leader and a wonderful mentor. We had many conversations as he took over SpaceTech. I learned more from him then than ever. We will miss you Steve- the entire aerospace community will miss you. You made us all better.
Ann, Kim and Sarah - you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Worked closely with Steve when he was appointed Director of Research at NASA Langley Research Center while I served as Deputy Director. With his prior experience primarily in engineering, Steve worked hard and successfully to gain the trust and admiration of the 1000+ Research Directorate professionals he led so well. I respected his dedication to his family and to completing the wide variety of NASA's aeronautics and space goals we met to address National missions. Always kind, sincere, generous and humble,
I look forward to seeing Steve again in Heaven where I feel certain he will be waiting to welcome his family and many friends.

Dear Jurczyk Family,
I am so incredibly sad for you and the loss of Steve. I am holding you all close to my heart. I feel lucky to have met Steve and I will never forget visiting your home during my first summer internship in DC and the time in Outer Banks with your family. I remember laughing a lot and feeling so welcomed and thankful to have a great friend with such a loving and caring family. I am wishing you grace during this time.
With all my love,
Tori

We are shocked and very saddened to learn that Steve is no longer with us. Our heartfelt condolences to Ann, Kim, and Sarah. We knew Steve as a vibrant and engaging individual, incisive and brilliant engineer, and an exemplary technical and organizational leader. We are grateful to have known and worked with him at NASA Langley. His zeal for space exploration came through vividly when he gave a talk at the Langley Alumni Association a few months ago about the endeavors of Quantum Space, the organization that he was leading after retiring from NASA. He is one of a kind and his sudden passing is a great loss to his family, friends, colleagues, NASA, and our Nation. We will miss him dearly. May his soul Rest in Peace.

Ann, Sarah and Kim,
My deepest condolences to you. Your husband and dad was an incredible human - compassionate, kind, funny, and genuine. He loved you all and talked about you often. Ive heard stories about you growing up, your careers, and even a kidney donation. He was a dear friend to me, an amazing leader, and a wonderful boss. He was passionate about STEM and ensuring equal opportunity and equity for all. He gave people a chance and showed respect to everyone he came in contact with. I feel honored to have worked for him. He will be greatly missed. ❤️
Wishing you many fond memories and peace during this difficult time.

I couldn’t have enjoyed working with anyone more than Steve. He was a strong and knowledgeable leader and kind and compassionate with peers and subordinates. Rare qualities not always seen in the same person. His contributions to NASA and the Nation won’t be forgotten. I will certainly miss him. Thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.

Steve was an amazing boss. Funny thing is that he never made me feel like he was a boss…..the trait of a true leader. I still remember thinking how hard it must have been for him to give me that awesome insulated Dallas Cowboy thermos as a gift…..says a lot coming from a Giants fan. My sincere condolences to the family. He will be missed….

We all knew when Jurz was in the room… by his booming voice. Steve is a one of a kind guy, who was a gift to everyone who met him. He was like a father to a number of us, he always had an open door and he took time to listen and share guidance. Farewell my friend, you are on the ultimate cycle ride; hoping we cross paths again. With love and gratitude to Ann and the children for sharing your Dad with the NASA family.
