Stephen's obituary
Stephen Glenn Parker, 60, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away on January 3, 2026, after a battle with metastatic prostate cancer. He went home to walk with our Lord, surrounded by love.
Stephen was born on October 7, 1965, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Roy Earl Parker and Margaret Ann Parker (née Clapp). Over the years, he lived in El Paso, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Bossier City, Louisiana; and Austin, Texas.
He graduated from Northeast Christian Academy in El Paso, where he played sports and sang in the choir. During that time, he was an active member of Sun Valley Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastors Waddell Maple, Art George, and Jack Berg.
Stephen was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. He was known for his quick wit, his love of staying up to date with the latest technology, and his famous (almost annoying) fastidious nature. He cherished every moment spent with his daughter and deeply treasured any opportunity to reunite with his brothers and sister. Even through great pain and discomfort, Stephen’s sense of humor never faded.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Earl Parker and Margaret Ann Parker (née Clapp), and his brother, Garry Webster Parker.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Alma Parker (née Ramirez); his daughter, Jordan Leigh Parker; his stepsons, Oscar and Fernando Salcedo, and his three grandchildren, of Austin, Texas; his sister, Deborah Jean Braus (née Parker) of Whitehouse, Texas; his brother, Rory Erle Parker of Marianna, Florida; nieces Cherie Parker, Alisha Parker, and Marie Addison (née Miller); nephews Christopher Braus, Andrew Braus, and Justin Parker; his aunt, Mary Beaver Cox; and many cousins across Illinois, Florida, Texas, and Oregon.
A memorial service will be held on February 21, 2026, in Austin, Texas. Additional details will be forthcoming.
Stephen is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life.
