-----
Connor graduated from Bluefield High School, and received an Associate's degree from Bluefield College.
Connor's first job was as a break man on the railroad. He then worked for K-Mart for 20 years in the management program moving his family from Pittsburgh, across Pennsylvania to New Jersey. After leaving K-Mart, Connor moved to Virginia and married his second wife Lynn Watson. They were co-managers with Holiday Retirement Community which moved them from North Carolina to Rhode Island, Connecticut, and finally Washington state where they ended their relationship. Connor then relocated back to the Scranton area where he had lived years before to be close to his children and grandchildren. He was hired by The Pennsylvania Center for Independent Living where he made a new work family. He resided in Carbondale PA until his death.
Connor was an adventurous spirit who loved the outdoors. He hiked the power lines as a young man with his father who was a civil engineer. His love of hiking, camping, kayaking, quading, white water rafting, motorcycling, and jet skiing was prevalent in his life until a tragic car accident in 2009 nearly ended it all. Although he had to leave his job, Connor's friends and family stayed close with him through a long and difficult recovery.
Connor's physical abilities were greatly inhibited after the accident, but being the adventurous spirit that he was, he always found a way to enjoy life.
He was a proud father and grandfather with a great sense of humor. He loved partying with his friends, making good food, listening to music, playing pool, and hanging out in "The Grotto". Mostly he just loved having people visit.
Connor had a very fulfilling life, and even though we will all miss him dearly, he was ready for his ever-present pain to end.
Connor passed quickly and painlessly after a massive stroke, surrounded by his children and their partners, and all of the love, prayers, and well wishes you were all sending his way. Connor was greeted with love from his parents, dear cousins, friends, and his special dogs Arlo and Weezie who passed before him. He graciously donated his body to The Gift of Life Foundation to help those in need as he helped so many throught his time on earth.
