Steve's obituary
Steve Bonilla, 65, of Sacramento, California, surrounded by the family he adored and cradled by the Holy Spirit, passed away on March 15, 2024. Born in 1958 to Frank and Carole Bonilla in Sacramento, California, Steve was known for his devout Catholic faith, passion for baseball, and deep love for his family.
His mother’s favorite and his father’s pride, Steve graduated from Washington High School in 1976 and played baseball for both Sacramento City College and Sacramento State University. Steve went on to work for the State of California for 31 years and retired in May 2023.
Preceded in death by his sister Laurie, his father Frank, and his mother Carole, Steve's life was a beautiful blend of faith, work, family, and the joy of singing ‘Kansas City’ even though he couldn’t remember the lyrics.
Steve is survived by his wife Cynthia Eaton, their children Brandon & Briana, his stepsons Jason & Kyle, his boys in Washington Stephen & Ryan, his siblings Frank Jr. (Moon), Rick, Lynne, Terry, Tom, and Kathy, and numerous aunts, uncles, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Rosary will be held for Steve on April 12, 2024, at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am; both taking place at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1321 Anna Street in West Sacramento.
