Remembering Stephen today.  I remain forever grateful for his wonderful daughter Lara and  her family.  I consider them a gift in my life.
Stephen is the father of one of my favorite people in the world, his daughter Lara. Through Lara, I grew to know him and his wonderful wife, Colleen. I enjoyed his wonderfully agile mind, his enthusiasm for learning new things, his wit , the wide prism through which he looked at any new ideas, and his kindness. He cared about what other people were saying, evidenced by how carefully he listened, mulled over what they were saying and, thus, bestowed importance on your point of view. Few people have that skill of making the other person’s point of view seem valid and important.
When my husband died this year, Stephen and Colleen were right there to support, offer kindness, provide food, to be a presence in my sadness, another example of how “he walked the talk,” consoled, added, not subtracted, to the situation, helped, extended his hand of support. In that way, I am forever changed. And, forever grateful for his life. He will live on in my heart and the hearts of many. And, I will see him in his lovely daughter, Lara. May God grant peace and courage to all those who mourn him and may he live forever in our hearts and minds.
