It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephanie Wood, a remarkable woman whose life was a beacon of love and resilience. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Stephanie Wood was the eldest of eight children to Richard and Betty Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rochelle Wood, and her brothers Jeff, Ricky, Stephen, and Kevin Wood. Her nephew Alex Overton.

She leaves behind her former husband John Patti  and her beloved children Kenny (Diane) Flegel, Adam (Stephanie) Flegel, Crystal (Mark)Berry, Karen (Steve) Smith, Nick Flegel, and Johnny Patti, along with 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, her loving and devoted sisters Sharon (Joel) Overton and Savannah (David) Woodford.

Stephanie will be remembered as a loving, strong, nurturing, faithful, hardworking, and compassionate woman, known for her quiet strength. Her heart was always full of love and she demonstrated a profound commitment to her family and to her personal integrity.

She imparted numerous life lessons to those around her, always emphasizing the value of hard work, and the importance of unconditional love. These teachings will remain as a testament to her dedication to shaping the lives of her family and all those who knew her.

Among Stephanie's most significant achievements was the raising of her six children, to whom she showed unwavering love and devotion. Her strength in the face of adversity was particularly evident in her remarkable recovery following a stroke. These acts of courage and resilience serve as examples of her unyielding spirit. Stephanie's legacy of love, faith, resilience, and family will continue to live on, cherished by those who were privileged to know her. Stephanie is loved dearly by her family. Her courage through all she endured will be remembered and celebrated. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit.

In remembrance of Stephanie, we celebrate the extraordinary woman that she was, and the depth of her impact on those around her. Her influence and love will forever be engraved in our hearts and minds.

A celebration of life for Stephanie Wood will be held in January 2026 in Virginia with her children, grandchildren and close family.
