Stephanie's obituary
Stephanie Jean Drennon ended her battle with cancer Tuesday, June 13th surrounded by the love she created in this world. Born on June 2, 1980 to Karen (Atlakson) Winney and Jim Bartlett, she discovered her love for teaching early and pursued her career through her time at Shawnee Mission West, Kansas State University, two Master’s degrees with what would become her signature determination, passion and tenacity.
Her dedication to education was only surpassed by her passion for her family. Marrying her partner and best friend Brian Drennon in 2005, they built their family of superheroes, sons Logan, 16, Parker, 13, and Greyson, 11. They instilled their children with a thirst for life through their many adventures and road trips. She felt her family was her greatest accomplishment.
Stephanie personified joy and was a friend to everyone she met. In addition to her beloved boys, she leaves behind her mother, stepfather Bob Winney, stepmother Jane Bartlett, brothers Will Bartlett, Andrew Winney, and Adam Winney, in-laws Wade Drennon, Christina and Nick Bates, Laura and Guy McGuire, and many adoring aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be remembered by her Chi Omega sisters, her Prairie and PV family, her fellow teachers, countless students and so many tribes she created with her love, light, and those dimples. Please join the family to celebrate Stephanie’s life at the 28 Event Space in Kansas City on July 2nd between (1300 W 28th St, Kansas City, MO 64108) 1pm and 4pm for an open house to share memories and love.
