Background
​Stephanie was deeply committed to public service and social justice, passions she passed on to her daughter, Alison Rebecca Stern Simard, co-founder of Citizens for Los Angeles Wildlife (CLAW) and Public Information Director for the Los Angeles Civil Rights Department. Her boundless generosity and mentorship for her "emotionally adopted" friends and family were a hallmark of her character. A fiercely committed vegetarian, she will be fondly remembered for her love for nature, animals and unwavering belief in equity and fairness for all.
