Stella's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Stella M. Maynard on January 18, 2026. Stella, beloved mother, grandmother and daughter was born on June 25, 1963, embodying a legacy of love and kindness that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Stella is survived by her loving children, Amber, Jessica, Angela, Charles, Jesse, Stephany, and Joyce. She is also survived by her mother, Emma Hoosier, her sister, Lisa Hoosier, her step-father, David Henry, her spouse, Jesse Justice, her daughter-in-law, June Maynard, and her son-in-law, Jeremy Andrews.

Stella cherished her role as a grandmother to Alyssa, Cadence, Cody, Jeremiah, Elijah, Devan, Aevin, Jesse, Charles Jr, Ariel, Emma, Makayla, Katelyn, Jesse, Natalie, Liam, Whyatt and Great Grandmother to Hailey, Atticus and Zoey. She was predeceased by her father, Bobby Hoosier, and her beloved grandchildren, Mariah Head and Gavin Lemaster.

Stella was best known for her genuine, loving, caring and humorous nature. As a devoted mother and grandmother, her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren and the love she bestowed upon them wholeheartedly.

A woman of simple pleasures, Stella's favorite foods included Broccoli and Cheddar Soup, stuffed bell peppers, and Burrito supreme with extra sour cream. She enjoyed the effervescence of 7-up, watching Game Shows, Chicago Fire, Price is Right, and Days of our Lives. Her favored pastimes were playing Super Mario Brothers, Domino's and the cherished game of Hide and Seek with her grandchildren. She derived immense joy from spending time with her family, watching her favorite shows, cooking and fishing. She had an affinity for the color blue and the music of Phil Collins, particularly 'In The Air Tonight'.

Stella lived her life by simple yet profound lessons of kindness, respect, gratitude, and love, all of which she imparted to her family. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who loved wholeheartedly, and whose legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A funeral service honoring Stella's life will be held on January 29, 2026,  11am to 1pm at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. We invite all who knew and loved Stella to join us as we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman whose spirit will always live within our hearts.
