It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Stella Showalter on November 16, 2023. Born on March 21st, 1948,

 The daughter of a civil engineer, Stella lived abroad through much of her childhood in England and Trinidad before finally settling in Kennebunk Maine with  her parents and 3 younger sisters. She was a lover of culture, cuisine, art,  history, literature, and especially music. She enjoyed traveling to far away places, as well as going on weekend getaways to see performances at the Metropolitan opera with her friends on many occasions.  

While living in Kennebunk, she worked at USF&G for many years before moving to Massachusetts where she worked for Varian Semiconductor until she retired. 

Stella is survived by her two sisters, Gail Hurder and Jill Searles, her  3 children, Bruce, Eileen, and Nadia. and her granddaughter, Hannah. 

We remember Stella  for her kindness and generosity that touched  everyone around her. She will forever remain in our hearts.
