Steff, Christina, and I met at Barry University as I was finishing my BA in Theology and Philosophy. We often had super insightful conversations about altruistic service and the Christian faith. Most recently he promised to be my mentor for my PhD applications and as he always encouraged to pursue such endeavor. I pray that God’s unconditional love embraces him and his family during this difficult time. You will always be present in our lives Steff.
Sincerest sympathy to Stef's family and to his wide circle of friends.. It was a pleasure and an honor to have been one of Stef's teachers - here in our PhD program in Theology and Education at Boston College. He was an outstanding student and a most faithful Christian. He i surely gone home to God.

Christina described Steff as a very good listener. I am grateful that they found each other to listen to. I'm grateful that they supported each other, loved each other, and created such a beautiful, quirky, spirited child as Malaya. The life they built together goes on and on in the fruits that it continues to bear in the world: love, presence, practice, funniness, listening to the Holy Spirit and each other.

Steffano Montano: Always a friend, support, guru, guide… Thanks for all you were - and still are - Steff. Your authentic, committed life inspired, and still inspires... You live on in our lives, and hearts.

My name is Donna Russo, mother to Steffano’s cousin’s wife, Jessica Miller. They have shared many of their memories over the years with Steffano and when my husband died Steffano was the first to reach out with condolences and love for us, my family will never forget his thoughtfulness in our time of loss and wish to send love, comfort and strength to his family in this time of sorrow
