Background
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read about this wonderful cause. Stefanie and David Ross have spent their lives serving God and spreading his word through there community. As the pastors wife of Bessemer City Community Church, Stefanie’s love for children urged her and her husband to start a school where all kids could have an opportunity to grow, learn and excel academically and spiritually in a safe, loving, and Christ centered environment. Stefanie was the administrator of Community Christian Academy. Her role was beyond what many could image. She did not just do paperwork or administrative task. Stefanie made it her job to know and love every child who came through the doors. December 8, 2020 Stefanie unexpectedly passed away at her home. As you can imagine her family’s world was shattered, including her church, students, parents, and staff. Stefanie left a huge impact on everyone that she crossed paths with. Currently Community Christian Academy does not have much of a playground and the area they do have it fenced in. Our goal is to create a playground area in memory of Mrs. Ross. I want her spirit to live on, and what a better way for the children, knowing that this wonderful play area was in her honor. The Stefanie Rubenstein Ross Memorial Playground will offer kids a fun place to play, swing, climb, and run all in a safe and gated fenced in area. I have attached pictures of the “play” area now. We plan to mulch inside the gated play area also, as now the area can be very muddy when wet. Included on the fence will be a sign labeled “The Stefanie Rubenstein Ross Memorial Playground”. A huge rock will be added outside the entrance. This rock will be able to be painted by parents and children during the school year. Our first painting will be in honor of Mrs. Rubenstein. We will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new playground (date and time to be announced). Our goal for this playground is $6000. This includes our fence, the playground, landscaping, the memorial sign, and outside seating/benches. All contributions can be used as tax credits. All donations over $150 will be added to a banner placed outside the play area. Donations of $500 or greater will be engraved on plaques that will be put up on the playground fencing. I know this can not be done without help from our community. The Ross family has dedicated a life of helping and giving to others in our community and others. Through this playground memorial we still allow Stefanie to continue to give. There is nothing more she loved, than to see children happy. Every child who comes through CCA will get a chance to play on Mrs. Stefanies memorial playground. All donations of any amount are accepted and humbly appreciated. Our goal is to begin building our playground around March/April with hopes to have it completed by the mid to end of Spring. Thank you for your time and God Bless you!
