Stefan's obituary
Stefan Bojko, 77, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2025 in Stickney, Illinois. Born December 30th, 1948 in Germany, to the late Kateryna Chochla and Mychajlo Bojko, Stefan went on to live a life of integrity, bravery and honor. Stefan went on to serve in the United States Military as a Combat Engineer during the Vietnam War in the 1960s. A longtime resident of Chicago, IL, Stefan then went on to build a truly remarkable legacy and family which he will be forever cherished and remembered for. Stefan’s memory, resilience, perseverance and warmhearted soul will forever be remembered by his family, friends and all that live on through him. Stefan is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bojko; his daughters Coleen Shipbaugh Bojko, spouse of Michael Shipbaugh and Cindy Cortes Bojko, spouse of Oswald Cortes. Stefan will also be survived by his brother and sister, Peter Bojko and Evelyn Villar; as well as his loving grandchildren, Eric and Jason Shipbaugh, as well as Maya & Lily Cortes. Also survived by Stefan are his beautiful great grandchildren, Logan Shipbaugh and Lilliana Nava.
Lord, we remember this Veteran who served our nation with honor, and we thank you for their service and sacrifice. Grant them eternal peace and rest, and comfort their loved ones during this time of sorrow.
A Celebration of Life and prayer hosted by Pastor Kimberlee Vasko is scheduled for Mr. Stefan Bojko at 3:00 P.M. at Saint John’s United Church of Christ in Lyons, Illinois on Saturday April 12th.
