Star was and will always be like a second mom to me. When I was in Florida away from family for 8 years, she was always super welcoming for the holidays or family get-togethers, where spending time with her felt like home away from home. Spending time with her and Leona was always a blast and their dynamic was always entertaining, especially when she’d have some of her dramatic moments and we’d laugh about it together. I’m grateful to have had her in my life, and will always cherish the fun times. 

Here is the program for todays celebration of life. Things will be informal and there will be opportunity for anyone to share a word after the family has a chance

Star was a wonderful lady to know. She shared a love of all things good with those she met. If you needed an open heart and open mind to get you through, she always made her shoulder available to lean on. She will always be remembered for her fun voice, willing to attack any song and make it hers. Now, she can enhance the sky the only way twinkling star's can. I only got to know her thru brief moments but, what fun moments they always were and will remain to me.

Aunt Star was the sweetest loving Women I have ever met. She always had my back and advice. Seeing her and getting a big hug from her was equal to Christmas morning for me. She loved me and I loved her with everything in me. She was Wonder Woman and I will miss her every day. I loved doing karaoke with her she had such a beautiful voice and soul. I loved going to the beach with her and having our picnics. Or the parties at her house with her pool. She never let me down and I truly can not believe she is gone. Wherever she is now I feel she is living her best life and will always be there in my heart and memories. I love you aunt Star I hope in your next life you are as amazing and bright as a soul as you were in this life. 

Star holds a very special place in my heart. She was always warm and loving to me, even when everyone else did. She was a wonderful Aunt and wonderful person. I am so sad to see her go.

So many of my great memories during middle and high school happened under Star and Leona’s roof. The kindness, generosity and security Star emanated is the standard I can only hope to achieve for guests in my home. I love you all, and I am so very sorry for this loss. 

Athena, Question, Jeffrey, Destiny and Leona- words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss.  So many years ago we became that chosen family when 2 girls in middle school looking for who they would become found each other. It was easy after that. Then we found her brother not only shared a birthday with my daughter but were born the same day/same year. Alex was welcomed into your home and we started the memories that will last forever. I love you all dearly and I wish I could take your pain away.
