Stanley's obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley West, a beloved family pillar, born on August 23, 1949, who departed from us on July 1, 2025. Stanley was a cherished family man, leaving behind a substantial legacy enriched by love, wisdom, and shared memories.
Stanley lives on in the hearts of his surviving family members. His loving wife Mary West continues to keep his love and ideals alive. His legacy also thrives through his children: his son, Darrel West Sr., and his daughter, Anita Smith. Stanley’s bond with his siblings endures through his brother, Larry West. Blessed with a lively brood of grandchildren, Stanley's spirit continues to shine through Asia Melton-Lumpkins, Amira Smith, Vernahia West-Davis, Keiwandra West, Darrel West Jr., and Darius West.
Stanley was the loving patriarch to 14 great-grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy, each cherishing their own personal memories and lessons imparted by him. As they grow, they will continue to keep the spirit of their great-grandfather alive, honouring his memory in their actions and accomplishments.
Stanley had the strength to bear the sorrow of losing his parents in his lifetime. His mother, Louise West, and father, Walter West, predeceased him. The love, resilience, and fortitude they instilled in him were evident in the way Stanley lived his life and guided his own family. Now, reunited in rest, we find comfort knowing Stanley has joined his parents.
Stanley West will be remembered not only for his personal attributes but for the love and closeness he fostered within his family, which stands as his greatest achievement and legacy. His wisdom, laughter, and the values he imparted will continue to echo in the lives of his loved ones. Although he is no longer physically with us, his spirit and memory are forever ingrained within our hearts.
