Stanley Usavage Jr., aged 83, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, in Cape Coral, FL. with his son John by his side. He was born on January 26, 1940, in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Stosh's life was centered around family, faith, and hard work, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Stosh valued simplicity and found joy in the little things. He enjoyed scratching lottery tickets, indulging in classic shows, and listening to timeless melodies. His warm and inviting personality welcomed everyone into his presence, instantly making them feel at ease. He was a great cook, skills he gained during his time in the Army. You could always find him cooking during holidays and/or for those around him.
Left to cherish memories of Stosh are his children: Stanley Usavage III (Rita) of Punta Gorda, Florida; Kenneth Usavage (Shannon) of NYC; Lynne Tehrani (Kamron) of Irvine, California; John Usavage of Cape Coral, Florida; and Margaret Usavage of Dover, Delaware. He is also survived by his dear siblings, MaryEllen Bonsal of Kingston, Pennsylvania, and David Usavage of Kingston, Pennsylvania. Stosh's legacy continues through his nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Usavage, in 2019, his son Timothy in 1964, and his brothers William and Thomas, as well as his parents, Mary and Stanley Sr.
Stosh's journey was marked by his dedicated service in the US Army during peacetime. After his military service, he pursued a career as a teamster/truck driver, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. Stosh retired in the early 2000s, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Stosh found solace in his faith and was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy in South Bound Brook, NJ. His devotion to his spiritual community was a testament to his deep-rooted values and unwavering commitment to his beliefs.
A memorial service honoring the life of Stosh Usavage will be held in Kingston, Pennsylvania. His children will announce the specific date and location at a later time, allowing family and friends to come together to pay their respects and celebrate a life well-lived.
