Stanley's obituary
Stanley Arthur Pritchard, 95, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Stan was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on July 28, 1928 to the late William Arthur Pritchard and Emma Edwards Pritchard.
Stan grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan, and after graduating from high school, he graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the Detroit Institute of Technology and was a member of Kappa Psi Fraternity. During Stan’s college years he worked as a dance instructor at an Arthur Murray dance studio. After working as a Pharmacist for several years in Allen Park, Michigan, Stan and his wife Patricia moved their young family to Ann Arbor, Michigan where he owned Pritchard Drug from 1959 to 1970. Pritchard Drug was a vibrant business with a soda fountain that was enjoyed by high school and college students and many others, especially on football Saturdays as people would stop in as they walked to and from Michigan Stadium to watch the Wolverines play.
After selling Pritchard Drug, Stan worked as a Pharmacist for several drug store chains until his retirement, at which time he and his wife, Loretta, moved to Goodyear, Arizona, where he volunteered as a Pharmacist at Luke U.S. Air Force base. After Loretta’s passing, Stan moved to Cumming, Georgia to live with his daughter Patty and her husband Jim, where he then volunteered as a Pharmacist at a local hospital.
Stan never missed reading the morning newspaper, loved playing golf, travelling, boating on Lake Lanier, watching sports on TV, going to sporting events (especially University of Michigan football games when he lived in Ann Arbor), and as always, dancing. While living in Cumming, Stan was a regular for a drink and a meal at PF Changs and Ted’s Montana Grill where he was well known and well liked by the staff because he was very outgoing and was always ready to make a new friend.
In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia, and his second wife, Loretta, who he married a couple of years after Patricia’s passing. Stan is survived by his brother, William R. Pritchard; two sons, Lansing W. Pritchard (Theresa) and Dr. William B. Pritchard (Linda); two daughters Patricia A. Depping (James) and Pamela Sander; Grandchildren Charles John Aro (Christina), Elizabeth Bunting, Dr. Taylor Franke (Shawn), Dr. Thomas Pritchard, Matthew Sander (Carrie), Bryan Sander (Emily), Carter Depping (Morgan), Jackson Depping (Katie), and Emma Depping; Great-Grandchildren Quinn Aro, Aidan James Franke, Josephine, Christian, Liam, Evan, and Claire Sander.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
