Stanley's obituary
Stanley Logan Coburn, aged 65, passed away on November 1, 2024, in Laverne, Oklahoma. Stan was born on July 4, 1959 in Alamo, Tennessee, and later in life raised his family in Buffalo, Oklahoma.
Stan was a talented tradesman and jack of all trades. He was the first person many people called when they needed to know how to fix something that was going wrong in the house or if they were having car problems. If something was broken, Stan knew how to fix it.
Stanley's greatest joy in life was his family. Known for his kindness and humor, he was profoundly devoted to his children and relished every moment spent with them. His love extended to outdoor activities; he was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved taking his kids fishing “up North” and hunting. When taking his friends and family fishing at farm ponds where he knew the fish were biting, he always assured us that he had permission - until he heard a car coming. He was active in his kids’ activities growing up, often stepping up to coach his kids’ sports teams or take his kids camping with the local Scouts troop. Stan was always there for his family if they needed him.
He leaves behind a loving family: sisters Pamela Cook of Laverne, Oklahoma, and Carolyn Baker of Buffalo, Missouri; children Britt Coburn of Coldwater, Kansas, Tyler Coburn and wife Tara of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Tanner Gruene and husband Jared of Celebration, Florida, and Tayler Coburn and wife Kali of Yukon, Oklahoma. His legacy continues through his granddaughters Cheyenne McNeal, Clara Coburn, Birdie Coburn, Sawyer Coburn, and a grandson soon to arrive. Stanley also held a special place in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie Hart Coburn (Buechlein) and Stanley Coburn, step-father William “Bill” Buechlein, uncle and aunt James “JJ” Coburn and Lavinia “Beanie” Coburn, his brother, David Allen Coburn, and his great-nephew Trent Shuman.
A private service to honor Stanley's life will be held by his family at a later date.
