I will always remember him as my favorite Uncle. I loved is laugh and sense of humor and his love of family and his kindness. He looked out for his own and his nieces and nephews when we were all growing up in Coquille Oregon. Drive in movies in his red dodge van will always be remembered with cousins and countless family fishing and camping trips. Fishing on the ocean was fun because I always knew we were safe with Stan and Jay Sauve, my dad they owned that boat together for family fun and memories! The Beach family holidays celebrations with all of us together created precious family memories that will be with us all forever.
I was so lucky to have been able to travel with Mom and Dad. Susie and I were going places with them pretty much every summer. We had so much fun exploring different places like the Grand Canyon, Oregon, California, and my all time favorites the old ghost towns, like Bannock and Virginia City. "Papa" knew so much about these places it was like having our very own tour guide wherever we went! So many fun memories, I am so grateful for them all!
Papa never complained. About anything! It didn't matter if he had a broken leg, a root canal scheduled or jury duty...he just about his daily routine and seemed to not have a problem in the world. Well my mama used to make a casserole called "Hungry Beef Casserole", which was a family favorite. We asked for her to make it quite often. She had been making it for 40 years and papa had been eating it for 40 years, and one day he says, "You know, I never cared for Hungry Beef Casserole". We were all floored hahahaha. Forty years he ate that casserole and never once turned it down, even if it was only the two of them she was cooking for. That is a perfect example of my easy going dad. Smile!
