Stanley's obituary

Neighbors in Western Lakewood mourn the loss of one of its most dedicated and beloved citizens, Stanley D. Austin, who passed away on December 18, 2024, after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Lakewood, Stan's unwavering commitment to his community and his generous spirit left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

He was a civic-minded individual who dedicated much of his life to local politics, working tirelessly to ensure that every voice in the community was heard and valued. Whether it was advocating for neighborhood improvements, supporting local businesses, or mentoring the next generation of leaders, Stan was always at the forefront of positive change.

Beyond his political involvement, Stan was known as a good neighbor and a generous friend, always ready with a helping hand and a kind word. His warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those around him made the neighborhood feel like home to so many.

The city of Lakewood is at a profound loss without him, but Stan’s legacy will live on in the streets he walked, the projects he championed, and the countless lives he touched.

A small neighborhood memorial honoring Stan’s life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 1pm at the home of Holly Gigante, 17320 Riverway Drive,  where neighbors and loved ones can gather to honor his memory and share their stories.

Stan, your kindness, your leadership, and your unwavering love for Lakewood and our neighborhood will never be forgotten.
