Stanley "Stan" Atkins, 62, of St Louis, MO, passed away on July 08, 2022 after a tough battle with cancer.

Stanley was born on July 31, 1959 to Mabel “Geraldine” Atkins and Stanley William Shaw in St Louis, MO. Stanley was raised by his step father and Isaac Hayward Atkins . After graduating from Beaumont High School in 1978, he primarily worked in the profession of customer service. In 1983, he met Johnnie M Lewis, and they wed in 1984, going on to have four children. In total Stanley has five children, LaToya Atkins, Ronnell M. Atkins, Dominique T. Atkins, Phillip D. Atkins, and Elishia M. Atkins.

 Stanley was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of LaToya, Ronnell, Dominique, Phillip, Elishia, and Johnnie and always tried his best to support them.


Stanley was also a passionate historian, sports fan and a cook. He could often be found at home in the kitchen cooking while watching a game or two. Anyone who knew Stanley knew that he was a loving father, husband, son, and brother who wore his heart on his sleeve.

 Stanley was predeceased by his mother Mabel “Geraldine” Atkins, father Hayward Atkins, and his sister Stacey Atkins. He is survived by daughter LaToya Atkins, son Ronnell Atkins Sr., son Dominique Atkins Sr., son Phillip Atkins, and daughter Elishia Atkins, sister Lisa Y. Atkins, Lilijana (Lynn) H. Shaw, 12+ grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.  

The family requests that all flowers and notes are reserved for his celebration of life. There will be a celebration of life at the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023 at Oak Grove Cemetery.
