Stacy's obituary

Stacy Kathleen White passed away on July 8th, 2023 surrounded by many loved ones at the age of 64. From Carneys Point, New Jersey, Stacy is the beloved daughter of Thomas G. White and Margaret J. White (Bivenour) and sister of Gail R. Costello (Joseph A. Costello) and the late Sherry J. Forbes (White). Stacy is a beautiful soul who embodied her roles of daughter, mother, and friend. Someone who gave endlessly even when there was seemingly nothing left of her to give.

Stacy struggled daily with difficult diagnoses and the symptoms associated with them, but she never allowed that to turn her into anything but caring. As someone who openly struggled with clinical depression and anxiety, even at her worst times, Stacy went out of her way to reach out to those around her to share her struggles and educate them on mental well-being.

Her life can be found chronicled among her Facebook posts where she lays bare her beautiful story so that others might not be as alone as she felt at times. And underneath the squirrel-like chaos and sometimes incoherent rants lies a fascinating story of loss, life, and love.

Stacy is known not only for her spectacular Halloween displays, but for waving at every person on the street as she rode by in the off chance she could add light to someone’s otherwise hard day. Even through the pain she experienced on a day-to-day basis, Stacy sought to touch the lives of as many people she could.

Stacy made the ultimate choice to not let her suffering become inconsequential. Through the help of Anatomy Gifts Registry Stacy made a whole body donation, contributing in a lasting way to support medical advances that impact the lives of future generations for decades to come.

Stacy is survived by her adoring husband Daniel J. Smith III, daughter Tommi G. Oleson (Tristan M. Erney), nephew Thomas D. Forbes, and soul-sister Lorraine K. Manahl (Kenneth A. Manahl).

Because Stacy was given a second chance at life from the many men and women in the Einstein Medical Center Liver Transplant team, her family request that donations be made in Stacy’s name to the Gift of Life Donor Program in lieu of flowers. Out of respect of Stacy and her family’s wishes, no services will be held. Her family asks that any and all memories be shared about Stacy so that her namesake and impact can live on and continue to touch lives just as her family before her has.

“Now I told you so you ought to know,

It takes some time for a feelin' to grow.

But you're so close now I can't let you go.

And I can't let go… For you are a magnet and I am steel”
