Shivasunderam "Sri"'s obituary
Sri moved to London in 1963 and studied Engineering at The University of London, graduating in 1970. He then joined Bechtel in 1973 as a mechanical engineer and worked as a devoted member of the Bechtel family for 43 years before retiring in 2016. He served as a Project Manager on many different projects, taking him to Indonesia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and all over the world. He was also a member of the Ilankai Tamil Sangam Texas (ITST) since moving to Houston, Tx in 1995.
Sri was kind-hearted, generous, and never met a stranger. His quick wit and humor were infectious and made him friends wherever he went. Growing up, he enjoyed playing tennis, cricket, and bridge.
Sri lived a long life and was blessed to have a loving wife of 34 years, Sarojini Vinayagalingam. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sarojini; children: Natasha, Roger and wife Sharon, David and wife Anka, and Asita and husband Luxman; grandchildren: Joshua, Annika, Florence, and India; and Sri’s siblings: Mahenderan, Indrani, Jegatheeswaran, Ganeshalingam, Wignarajah, Sriskandarajah, and Jegatheeshwari.
