My “first born”  Sophia passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2025. Sophia was born on August 4th, 2011 and joined my family October 4th, 2011.  I was blessed with having one of the best companions a girl could ask for. From the day I picked Sophia up, our souls became one. She was the sweetest, most gentle and loyal girl I could have ever imagined. 

Over the next almost 14 years, Sophia taught me the meaning of unconditional love. She has lived in 5 different homes with me and flawlessly accepted the addition of my husband Ryan (who quickly became her new daddy) and my two children Miles and Gemma. She was loved by so many and is survived by in addition to her human parents and siblings, Nanny and Pop Pop Miles, Heather, Zach, Harper and Peyton Gillenwater, Mimi and Pop Pop Snyder, Nikki Knable and Craig and Kristi Walmer, and many other “friend aunts and uncles”and cousins. 

Sophia was loving, a fierce protector of her family, a beautiful and kind Cane Corso who loved nothing more than to hang out with her family, hike and swim in her younger years, play with her puppy friends who have since passed and sunbathe. Sophia also completed and earned her Good Canine Citizenship Award and enjoyed agility courses. Thank you for being such a loving part of my family and I hope you’re resting in peace. You’re forever in our hearts, Sophia.
