She dedicated her life to helping others and was very active in her church, Houston's First Baptist Church, and in their Alzheimer’s support group, as well as numerous other charities. She loved supporting and attending A.D. Players performances and enjoyed a good game of golf. Sonia was an avid bridge player and made numerous good friends playing in her community at Country Place. She loved to read a good book to discuss in her book club and enjoyed traveling. She never met a stranger and was a trusted and loving friend who always enjoyed a new adventure.
Sonia is survived by her devoted sister, Elaine Fritz Rosenbaum of Pearland, TX who cared for and comforted her during her illness and a brother Michael Hartgraves of Groveton, TX. Sonia is also eternally loved and will be forever missed by her nieces, Robin Rosenbaum Ollenburg & her husband Steve and their daughter Allie; Renee Rosenbaum Ditta & her husband Louie and their daughters Macey, Madison and Mackenzie Ditta Treadway and Mackenzie’s husband Nick Treadway; nephews David Rosenbaum & his wife Jana and their children Jakob, Jagger and Lily; and Jonathan Hartgraves & his wife Katherine and their daughter Madeline.
Sonia was an amazing Aunt Toni who always made things entertaining, fun and lively. She was a tremendous source of love and support to her nieces and nephews, as well as a loving Nonnie to her great nieces and nephews.
Sonia is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Louis Fritz and Lillian Irene Myers of Houston, TX and her husband Roy Long.
A memorial service will be held at Houston’s First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024, on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00am.
