Sondra's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sondra Collins, who left us on July 13, 2024. Born on October 10, 1974. Sondra's life was a rich tapestry of experiences, wisdom, and laughter that greatly impacted everyone around her.
Sondra's life was as vibrant and dynamic as her personality, best described in three words: blunt, wild, and strong. With a robust vocabulary that reflected her unique spirit, she never hesitated to express her thoughts and opinions, earning the respect of many.
Sondra leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memories: her mother, Janet Collins; and her father Miller Baham; her siblings; Katrice Tribble (Levi) , Travis, Miller and Damien Crandle, her daughters; Mesha Collins, Nikki Tims, Gabby Moreland and her grandchildren ; Trey, Kevin, Marianna and Martrell; her nieces; Kionna and Ayrionna and her nephew, Keyonn, and a host of aunts, cousins , friends and a host of many other extended families in which she loved as aunts, nieces and nephews. Each family member remembers Sondra's incredible spirit, her laughter, and her practical wisdom that remains a guiding light.
Sondra's love for life was reflected in her many interests. She found solace in music, with Gerald Levert, E40, Mazi, and Mary J Blige being her favorites. Her favorite books included works by Sister Soulja, and her palate was often quenched by the crisp refreshing taste of Sprite and Vodka. Her love for games, particularly Gin and Spades, provided countless hours of laughter and competition within her circle of family and friends.
Not one to shy away from the call of solitude, Sondra often indulged in recreational activities alone, finding peace and rejuvenation in her own company. She loved visiting Santa Cruz, one of her favorite vacation spots, where she could unwind and savor the refreshing sea breeze.
Always one to give back, Sondra was passionate about causes close to her heart, most notably the fight against Sickle Cell Disease. She stood up for those afflicted with the condition, advocating tirelessly for better understanding and treatments, while caring for her grandson with the disease.
Sondra's favorite color was as unique as she was – Money. Whether it reflected her keen sense of humor, her appreciation for the finer things in life, or her journey towards success is something only she could have said. What we do know is that Sondra's bold choice of color is a testament to her individuality and fearlessness - a remnant of her vibrant personality.
We mourn the loss of Sondra Collins. Yet, we celebrate her life, her spirit, and the indelible mark she’s left on our hearts. Sondra will always be remembered, never forgotten, and forever missed.
