Sombat's obituary

Sombat "Paul" Tasanaprasert was born May 23, 1943 in Ayutthaya, Thailand. He was the first child of Pradit Tasanaprasert and Pien Tasanaprasert and was the eldest of four siblings. He quietly departed this life on January 6, 2022 at the Police General Hospital of Bangkok, Thailand.

A lifelong student, Sombat earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering, as well as a Masters of Political Science and later a Doctorate in Business.

Sombat was the first to graduate from his village in Ayutthaya, Thailand with a full scholarship to study Ancient Civilizations and Islamic Principles in Egypt. He then traveled around Europe and Asia before deciding to explore 'the Land of Opportunities—America’. Where he later married his life long partner and best friend, Keila Sanchez Tasanaprasert, in Florida.

In his personal as well as professional life he was known for being determined, astute and forward-thinking with an entrepreneurial mind for business. He spoke three languages and enjoyed navigating business ventures, emerging investment opportunities, and real estate. He was a dynamic risk taker who paved the way for several businesses and countless jobs. Sombat had an aptitude for competition and sports. He was an avid golf enthusiast as well as a professional Thai Kickboxer during his youth.

A bridge between people and cultures—Sombat Tasanaprasert expressed an affinity for contributing to society. He was an active member of the Islamic Peace Party as well as an active member and President of the Thai Association of Georgia. His passion for helping others led him to be a recognized leader in his communities, impacting lives and creating lifelong friendships. While he was a devout Muslim, he seeked to understand all religions and was accepting and respectful of all faiths; always expressing love and peace as the important basis. His compassion extended to animals, often expressing himself through parables and observing animals in nature and on television.

He lived a robust life that will be survived by the love of his life wife, Keila Tasanaprasert, and his children - Adam Tasanaprasert, grandchildren Adam Tasanaprasert Jr., Ariana Tasanaprasert, Joaquin Tasanaprasert, and Arabella Tasanaprasert, Andy Tasanaprasert, daughter-in-law Muna Tasanaprasert, grandchildren Amanee Tasanaprasert and Adalee Tasanaprasert, Adri Tasanaprasert Odu, son-in-law Simisi Odu, grandchildren Enzo Odu and Menina Odu, Alexi Tasanaprasert and Luna. He dedicated his life to providing for his family.

The Tasanaprasert family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude for those who have given their kind words and prayers. All were touched by his presence and his legacy lives on. The family asks to continue sharing his memories. He will be greatly missed.
