I remember that sohndra would always call for my birthday, and I would call for hers. Just miss her. She was always loving to me.

Heartbroken best describes how I've been feeling since February 2nd when I found out my Mom had passed. Yes, Sohndra was my Mom. Although not my birth mother, she was Mom, nonetheless. In fact, during the last conversation I had with her, she said who's your momma? You are I replied. We had a good laugh. Even while going through her adversity, she could make me laugh and put a smile on my face. She was happy to be alive. She always told me; life is to be lived and to be enjoyed. She lived by her words because she understood that life is short. As sweet, kind and generous as she was, she was not weak. She had a warrior's spirit. She was momma bear. She was a little lady, but she carried herself with such regal authority that you knew not to miss with her. She was my very own Angela Basset. She said there's two things you don't mess with, her food and her money. :) But she was not about money. She was about helping people. Which she did. That's who she was. She was very encouraging and upbuilding. I miss her. Though she is not with us physically, her spirit is ever present. Though I, we, have suffered a great loss I was blessed and honored to know such a wonderful person. I am thankful that was able to give her her flowers while she was here. She will always have my respect and admiration. If there is a silver lining to this, it is this, she's not suffering, she lived her life the way she wanted and she has reunited with her folks, Robert and Shymia. You will never be forgotten. Love you Momsie, always.

I'm really going to miss us going to lunch every month sitting around talking for hours. Going to the gym not really work out but we talk so much, about the time we finished talking we're done with our workout.. nothing but sweet memories of you my friend.
