This "school picture" of Smidge is still posted in our break room at Laurelhurst. She's forever a part of the staff here.

Please consider a donation to any cause of your choice.

The world is a little darker without Smidge here, but it will always be a better place because of her.

The way her eyes shined for Jenny, truly unconditional love.

The way she would grumble if anybody kissed her on the head.

The way she tried to stop at the Snack Bar for treats every day.

The way we offered her bits of our lunch like she was a god.

The way she would tilt her head with her snaggle tooth out of you scratched the right spot on her neck.

The way she would be content to be passed from lap to lap, chair to chair, to be carried and doted upon.

The way she would prance out the door, ears bouncing, tail wagging.

The way she was silly and brave and opinionated and loving and so much more.

She will be missed deeply and remembered fondly. Sending you all the love and hugs Jenny, and Bernard, in this time ❤️

The happiest I've ever seen her - on her own floatie, in the sun, on the river, right next to Jenny

2024, Where the sun meets the waterfall
This baby girl was the kind of special that comes along once in a lifetime. Every pet is special, there's no arguing that, but occasionally an animal comes into our lives that is our "soul animal." This incredible creature was that being to Jenny. There aren't enough words to express how amazing she was or how much of an elephantine hole her passing leaves in the lives and hearts of so many.  Thank you for sharing your incredible spirit with us all, Smidgelette, and thank you, Jenny, for sharing her with all of us. Our lives are so much the richer for it.
