Sle's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sle Pickman on January 23, 2025, at the age of 96. Beloved wife of Milton Pickman for 77 years, loving mother to Donna Nash and her husband Thomas, Michael Pickman-Thoon and his wife Renie, and cherished grandmother to Brennan and Julianna.

Sle was preceded in death by her parents, Zina and Julius Boyarsky, and her two younger sisters, Audrey Perlmutter and Sonnie Salterman. She is survived by her husband, children, their spouses, and grandchildren.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Sle lived in several vibrant communities throughout her life, including New Jersey, New York City, Quogue, New York, Marin County, California, and San Francisco. Sle had a passion for life, her beautiful homes, and travel, always eager to explore the world with her family. She was an avid lover of theater and a supporter of New Dramtists. Sle enjoyed book club groups and relished playing Mah Jong. Her eye for interior design and her deep love for her extended family and friends across the country brought warmth and joy to those around her.

In recognition of her long and loving marriage to Milton, they were honored with congratulations from Presidents Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush.

A memorial service was held on February 6, 2025, at Rhoda Goldman Plaza in San Francisco. Sle will be dearly missed by her family and many friends who will forever remember her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit.
