My condolences to Silver's family. I first met Silver as his science teacher. Your son was one of the greatest people I’ve ever taught. I truly mean that.

He had a smile that always lit up the room. He was the guy who always had my back as the teacher. There were a lot of “hey guys, Mr. Donovan is teaching, so shut up” moments in class. This kid had the biggest heart, funniest sense of humor, and polarizing personality. People just loved him and loved being around him. I love laughing with him and loved talking sports, science (as in where he would use this in real life), and movies.

As I’ve spent the last few days thinking about fun memories of this beautiful guy, I think of this funny story. There were many days in class where as a teacher I knew I had some ‘boring’ material to go over or lecture to the class. Most of those days Silver would be like many of his peers, fighting to stay engaged during some pretty dry material. As I would read the room, and it was time for a short break (for the students), this one time Silver came up to me and said “thanks for trying to make that interesting and fun. That would have been so boring if anybody else taught it”. We both laughed.

Your son was loved. He made a difference, and heaven was sent a special angel. God has a special place and an important job for Silver. Rest in peace you sweet boy. You are missed.

A gentle soul, a heart of gold,

A peacemaker's story, too soon told.

Nineteen years, a fleeting light,

Taken by darkness, a tragic night.

He walked with kindness, a helping hand,

A beacon of hope in a troubled land.

His spirit soared, a peaceful dove,

Spreading love and endless love.

Though gun violence stole his breath,

His memory lives, defying death.

A legacy of love, forever bright,

A shining star in the darkest night.

A life of peace, in troubled times he shone,

A heart of gold, where kindness was his tone.

A care for others, in every step he'd take,

A peacemaker young, for peace he'd make.

With hands that helped, and a soul so bright,

He lit the way, in the darkest night.

For those in need, his help he'd extend,

His love was pure, his spirit to amend.

Taken too soon, by violence's cruel hand,

A life of promise, in a world so grand.

Though grief now speaks, in sorrow's heavy tone,

Your legacy lives, in the love you've sown.

In memories kept, your care, your heart, your way,

We'll honor you, in the light of each new day.

A peacemaker lost, but in hearts you'll stay.

I remember when we lived together and you play fight with each other and you try sneaking up behind me and scare me lol.  Your smile and laughter when I tell you something “come on Auntie are you serious”.  When you won the big for your football time and I said great Job Sliver you killed it out there an your reply was I old you I was good at my position. I wish I could hug you one more time and tell you how proud I am of you
I worked with Silver at Acres Green Elementary.  He was a wonderful kiddo with such a contagious smile! I am so sorry for your loss!
Silver was a light in every room. He loved everyone so fiercely and I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile. Except for when we went camping and he rolled the rzr with Shawn! We were just glad he was ok! And his smile quickly returned. My favorite time was when he introduced me to his girlfriend as “Aunt Lissie” that made my day. Love you so much silver.
Silver loved making sure no one ever felt alone. He loved helping disabled children.
