Sidney's obituary
Sidney Eugene Adkins, Sr., age 68, passed away on November 3, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. He was a beloved brother and loving father and he believed in serving Jehovah with all his heart. He loved to fish, just as his mother did and work on cars, just as his father did. His favorite car was his classic 62’ Chevy Belair which he and his best friend Manny restored close to original condition before his passing. He loved to listen to his classic oldies from the 60’s – 80’s and had amassed an extensive collection of music. Old movies from that era were also his favorites. Sidney suffered from sickle cell anemia all his life, now he has peace.
Sidney was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Adkins, his brother, Anthony Adkins, his son Sidney Eugene Adkins, Jr., his mother, Alice Carr, his sister Patricia Lee Adkins Fernandez and his sister, Cornell Lark Gray. He is survived by his sisters Gwendolyn Alexander and Sondra Adkins and his brother Eugene Alexander Adkins. His children Nisha Thorne, Monroe Williams, Eugene Adkins, Aaron Adkins and Tynisha Adkins. He leaves 18 grandchildren as well as many grandnieces & nephews, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Sidney’s Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 1 on December 18, 2021 in Anchorage, Alaska and he will be buried at the Pomona Cemetery in Pomona, California on January 27, 2022 with his sister Patricia and his father. Sidney will be greatly missed by all.
