Shulan Li, 63, passed away on July 3, 2024, in New York City after a long battle with cancer. 

Born in China on September 8, 1960, she grew to be one of the most gifted students in her region, admitted into college a year early and going on to earn a graduate degree in biology. After moving to America, she worked as an accomplished researcher, and was an invaluable member of her team at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, which she contributed to for over thirty years.

She was caring and kind, beloved by all that surrounded her, known for her hardworking nature and overflowing selflessness. She always made time to talk to her friends when needed, and loved gifting food and handcrafted goods to others. She is survived by her husband, Lunbiao Yan, and her daughter, Lily Yan, as well as her extended family still in China. She was dearly loved by many, and will be missed by all who knew her and were loved by her in return.

在与晚期肺癌搏斗十个月后 于二零二四年七月三日美国东部时间下午十二点三十分许 在哥伦比亚大学医学院附属医院去世。

在与晚期肺癌搏击中，淑兰意志坚强、勇敢无畏，在 当今世界顶级抗肿瘤医疗团队的协助之下，曾经一度接近胜利之门，只因邪恶的小细胞复发而功亏一篑。

1960年9月8日生于长春市

1978年于长春市廿九中学提前一年参加高考、高中毕业、考入北京师范大学生物系

1982 年大学毕业 分配到空军医学院专科学校 工作

1991考入中国协和医科大学/中国医学科学院基础医学院生理教研室攻读硕士研究生学位，硕士研究生毕业之后转读博士学位

1996秋以访问学者身份进入美国费城富兰克林医学院做博士后研究

1998 年入职纽约哥伦比亚大学外科𤣿究室

1999年在纽约西奈山医学院遗传系工作

1997年10月7日与闫伦飙喜结良缘。

2001年8月12日 生下女儿Lily (Lily的前两个字母正好与李字的汉语拼音相同; 后两个字母 ly 则为其母亲父亲姓氐 李与闫 之首字母）

2003年在哥伦比亚大学医学院工作至今
