My sincere condolences to Shirley's family and friends. 

I first met Shirley at a coffee shop many, many years ago, when she worked for the County. We got to see each other at coffee nearly every morning before she left for work.   We shared our experiences of domestic abuse.  I knew she really understood my past experiences and I understood hers. I was so proud and excited for her when she published her story in a book.  And extremely thrilled that she was in the process of making a movie.

After her retirement from the County, I got to see Shirley more often at her favorite place, Angelics Cafe. I was so happy for her.  I will surely miss her sweet personality and that beautiful smile.  She was a treasured friend that I loved dearly. Rest in peace my sweet friend.❤️
