Shirley's obituary
Shirley June Morosko, 94, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on November 25, 2020, in Berkeley Springs, WV. She was born on May 22, 1926, in Wheeling, WV, to the late George Garvin and Helen (Snedeker-Garvin) DeNardo.
Shirley had a fulfilling and diverse career. As a teenager, she worked at a dairy in Wheeling and a Cigar factory cleaning leaves before rolling into "stogies". During World War II, Shirley worked at a military factory in Parkersburg, WV making glass sights, alongside her mother. She also held various secretarial government positions in Washington D.C. before retiring to WV.
In her free time, Shirley enjoyed watching and feeding birds and other wildlife. She found solace in taking long drives to interesting places, appreciating the beauty of the world around her.
Shirley’s educational history includes attending primary school in Wheeling, WV, and taking secretarial courses in high school. She attended The Corcoran School of Art and loved to paint.
Shirley is survived by her loving children: Susan Motley, Joseph Morosko, Sandra Stilson, and her grandchildren: Joseph, Andrew, William, Jennifer, Sarah J, and Rebecca. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Morosko, her son Ronald T. Morosko, and her daughter, Robin J. Morosko. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lois G. Traugh and Leola Ilene.
Shirley June Morosko will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, and her love for nature. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
