Shirley's obituary

Shirley Mills went home to Jesus on December 20, 2024 at age 88.


Shirley was born to Otis and Gladys Jessee on September 4, 1936 in New Tazwell, TN.  She was the 3rd of 8 children.  Shirley married her husband, Bill on December 31, 1951 and moved to Phoenix in 1952.  Together they had 4 children, Charles Jr., Wanda Sue, Charlene and Patricia.   Shirley became a member of Central Heights Baptist Church in 1958.  In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she also loved cooking, baking and crocheting. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Shirley joins her husband Bill, son Charles, son-in-law Danny Dahm, grandson John, parents Otis and Gladys Jessee, brothers Hollis and Estel, sisters Lillis Staley and June Merritt, brothers-in-law Jimmy White and Alvin Merritt in Heaven.  She is survived by children Sue Dahm, Charlene and Patti (Mike) Sell; grandchildren Danny (Julie), Jenny (Mark), Jason (Raegan), Stephanie (Heath) and Nate (Randi); great-grandchildren, Michael, William (Sara), Justin (Danielle), Josh, Tim, Kyler, Josiah, Jesse, James, Annabelle, Althea, Faye, Nate Jr. and Noah; great-great grandchildren, Grayson, Millie, Bella, Finn, Jakob, Mylah, Hudson, RiLee and Lucas; daughter-in-law Carolyn; siblings, Kelsie (Joyce) Jessee, Elsie (Ray) Lett and Pauline White, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
